South Carolina Courts Defend Charlamagne Tha God?!?!
There are new developments on the alleged rape involving Charlamagne that happened around 17 years ago. The Ninth Judicial Circuit Solicitor Scarlett A. Wilson issued a statement saying law presumes the popular radio personality “is innocent of the dismissed allegation.”
According to Billboard, Lenard McKelvey aka Charlamagne Tha God case will not be resurrected and he is presumed innocent of the crime.
“The plea was negotiated because the alleged victim in the matter did not cooperate with the prosecutor,” The prosecutor made this agreement because of the victim’s absence and the lack of evidence available at the time.” – Scarlett A. Wilson, Ninth Judicial Circuit Solicitor
This is what we have been saying all along. You can not rush to judgement when you hear allegations being made against anyone. Oftentimes, the media will keep the story going because it boost ratings. However, this incident could have ruined Charlamagne. Clearly, the young lady was raped but by whom we may never know. At any rate, it sounds like this situation may finally be put to rest for Charlamagne. Hopefully, he can move on with minimal damage to his reputation.
