Wide Receiver Antonio Brown Walks Off During Buccaneer Game!!!
During a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game, wide receiver Antonio Brown left the field. This all happened at the Metlife Stadium when Antonio took off his jersey. Antonio proceeded to leave when his teammates Mike Evan and O.J. Howard tried to calm him down. However, it was to no avail. Antonio took off his jersey, pads, undershirt, and gloves and threw them in the stands.
Buccaneers Coach Bruce Arians: Antonio Is No Longer A Buc
In a statement after the game Coach, Bruce Arians spoke out about the incident. Although, the Buccaneers did win the game(28-24) the situation was messy. During the press conference, Arians shared this with ESPN,
Coach Arians went on to say, “I’m not talking about him. He’s no longer part of the Bucs.” Some sources reported that Antonio did not fly home with the team. Some of the security staff mentioned that Antonio had asked for a ride to the airport. But security told him no. Antonio went to the locker room and changed his clothes. Apparently, he did manage to get transportation.
It appears there was a heated discussion between the coach and Antonio. Obviously, it led to Antonio deciding to walk off the field. Antonio had just returned after a three-week suspension. Antonio presented a fake vaccination card and was suspended for three games.
Superbowl champion quarterback Tom Brady share his thoughts, as well concerning Antonio,
“We all love him. We care about him deeply. We want to see him be at his best. Unfortunately it won’t be with our team,” Brady said, adding that he will continue his friendship with Brown, and would encourage those around him to help him.
“I think everyone should be very compassionate and empathetic toward some very difficult things that are happening,” Brady said.
With that being said, we don’t know whether Antonio will play again this season.
