Not to mention, Uncle Snoop recently acquired Death Row Records. So his business mindset certainly proves he’s playing chess, not checkers.
Of course, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg already have a business partnership.
Alongside E-40 and Too $hort, they make up 1/2 of the West Coast-based rap group, Mt. Westmore.
Ultimately, Mt. Westmore is made up of legendary rappers and is a play on the great Mt. Rushmore sculpture.
Creative right? Well, Cube and Snoops’ business relationship just went to the next level.
Recently, the Long Beach icon officially invested in Ice Cubes’ BIG3 basketball league.
Notably, the BIG3 is made up of former NBA and International players. As well as, current and future Hall of Famers.
High Stakes, NFTs, and Winners
Importantly, Snoop Dogg leveraged his investment by joining forces with Paypal co-founder Ken Howery. Thus, they invested a $625,000, 40% stake into the injury-prone Bivouac team.
Additionally, Gary Vee took advantage of the opportunity which is solely through NFTs.
According to Complex, Cube didn’t waste time welcoming his new comrades aboard.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Snoop, Ken, and their communities on board with the BIG3.”
Furthermore, Ice Cube pointed out what they bring to the business.
“Having someone with Ken’s knowledge and experience wanting to be a part of our league demonstrates that we are moving in the right direction. Snoop is an undisputed legend who has jumped headfirst into the Web3 space and clearly understands the importance and the value of what we are trying to create. Together, I know they will take Bivouac to new heights and we can’t wait to get started.”
Well, season 5 of the BIG3 tips off June 18. Ice Cube highly anticipates the team being led in a new direction.
Ultimately, the remaining franchise teams are still up for investors via NFT.
