Lizzo Wins Emmy For Amazon Prime Video Series ‘Watch Out For The Big Grrrls’

Lizzo is sporting another line on her resume, as she is now an Emmy winner for her Amazon Prime Video competition series, Watch Out For The Big Grrrls.

She won the award for Outstanding Competition Program, and this was her very first Emmy nomination.

The Emmy Awards show was held Sunday night in L.A.

Though she does not have EGOT status, this makes her halfway there.

How about that, ya’ll!

The Houston native took to social media to express her delight at winning the honor –

During her acceptance speech, the 34-year-old singer/rapper/songwriter/actress (real name Melissa Vivianne Jefferson) becomes “very emotional”, saying –

“When I was a little girl, all I wanted was to see me in the media. Someone fat like me, Black like me, beautiful like me.”

“If I could go back and tell little Lizzo something, I would be like, ‘You’re going to see that person, but b***h, it’s going to have to be you.”

The ‘About Damn Time‘ singer is currently celebrating the drop of her latest album Special .

You can catch up with our girl as she continues her world tour (with Latto) to promote that project.

We are surely keeping up with this dynamo as she adds more and more to her resume.

Congratulations, Lizzo!
