Cowboys Retired RB Marion Barber Dead. The cause of his death is unknown at this time. Barber did have issues with mental health.

Marion Barber Was Once A Star Player For Dallas

Cowboys Retired RB Marion Barber Dead. He was drafted by the NFL Dallas Cowboys in 2005. Also, Barber made the Pro Bowl in 2007. During his tenure with Dallas, he was a force on the field.

In his first season with Dallas, he led with 975 yards for rushing and 10 touchdowns. Clearly, the young running back was destined for stardom. Fans named him, “Marion the Barbarian.”

Consequently, Barber became a fan favorite, as reported by ESPN. After being released from Dallas in 2010 he played for Chicago Bears.

During his career, Barber had 4,780 yards and 53 touchdowns. In addition, his passing game of 1,156 carries and 179 passes was phenomenal. However, Barber’s career ended

Sadly, Barber will not be here to celebrate his 39 birthday on June 10. Frisco, Texas police responded to a call on an “unattended death.”  I am not sure what that means.

But when police arrived allegedly Barber was dead. Or that is what reports are saying. At the time, Barber’s name was not released. We only know that the person was allegedly dead.

Additionally, we do not know what was the cause of death. What we do know is Barber had some issues with his mental health. Therefore, it is possible that may have contributed to his death.

Of course, this is only speculation. Heartfelt condolences are pouring out for Barber. Dallas Cowboys spokesperson released this statement,

“We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III,” the team said. “Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down. He had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to Marion’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

As a matter of fact, “Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down.” He had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates.”

Rest in Power.
