The cast of Martin has come together to make us laugh once again on their 30th Anniversary. And it’s all going down on BET+.
The Original Cast Of ‘Martin’ Are Officially Marking Their 30th Anniversary
The 30th Anniversary of Martin is reuniting the original cast members for a special.
That’s right, Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, and Carl Anthony Payne are all set to take part in the program.
Of course, original cast member Thomas Mikal Ford’s absence will be felt, as he passed away back in 2016.
He was 52 years old.
So get ready to enjoy a heartfelt reunion, as Martin, Gina, Pam, and Cole bring back the magic.
And I’m sure we’ll see many of the characters that Lawrence brought to life during all 5 seasons.
Premiering on August 27, 1992, the beloved sitcom ran until May 1, 1997.
Though you will hardly notice because the Martin show is still tickling our funny bones on several networks.
Since it is still in heavy syndication on multiple stations, including BET and TV One.
According to Deadline, the special will look at the show’s origin and evolution.
Highlighting the shows impact on an entire generation, the anniversary special will include –
- interviews with the cast
- interviews with the original director’s
- musical performances
- behind the scenes commentary
Scott Mills, the CEO of BET had this to say about the show –
“Martin is one of the most beloved sitcoms in our community both because it is hugely entertaining and because it played a pivotal role in changing the narrative of Black voices in entertainment and in culture through the portrayal of young, ambitious Black leads and healthy Black relationships…”
Not only are we still enjoying this tv show after so many years, we just can’t seem to get enough.
I wonder what the cast members have been doing since the show ended?
While new generations are introduced to these characters, the fanbase keeps growing.
The 30th Anniversary of the Martin Show TV special is set to air on BET+.
