Brandon Graham Ends Retirement To Rejoin Philadelphia

Brandon Graham Ends Retirement To Rejoin Philadelphia. The book on Brandon Graham’s storied Philadelphia Eagles career isn’t quite closed yet. In a move that has sent a jolt of energy through the fanbase and the locker room, the longest-tenured player in franchise history has officially come out of retirement, agreeing to terms to rejoin the Eagles for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Super Bowl Great Brandon Graham Has Unretired For the 2025 Season

Brandon Graham, 37, had previously announced his retirement in March following the 2024 season. This culminated in a Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs—Graham’s second Lombardi Trophy.

The team confirmed the veteran defensive end’s decision to return on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. As you know, Brandon was one of Philadelphia’s beloved football players.

Therefore, having Brandon return to the team midseason is good news. According to Sports Illustrated, Brandon started toying with the idea of returning to the Eagles recently.

Needless to say, Brandon’s decision to return comes at a critical juncture for the 5-2 Eagles. Za’Darius Smith has abruptly decided to retire from the Eagles.

One of the league’s great edge rushers, Za’Darius Smith, leaves room for Brandon’s return. We found out news about Za’Darius retiring and Brandon coming back via social media.

Reports indicate that the organization reached out to Brandon Graham.

“While I could still [play football], and the opportunity feels like it’s right, that’s exactly what I want to do,” Graham said. “I know that it was Year 15, it was just like a great way to go out, but I don’t want to have no regrets either. … This is the only time in life that you could do it. After a while, ain’t nobody calling no more.”

“I really didn’t want to retire in the beginning,” Graham admitted on his “Unblocked” podcast, where he confirmed the news. He added that he was “excited to get back on the field,” and that he was “prepared to help the team in any way [he] could.”

His return is more than just a personnel move; it’s a cultural infusion. Drafted by the Eagles in 2010, Brandon Graham holds the franchise record for most regular-season games played (206).

And ranks third in career sacks with $76.5$. Not to mention, his status as a Philadelphia icon was cemented in Super Bowl LII with the game-sealing strip-sack of Tom Brady.

He’s Back: Brandon Graham Rejoins The Philadelphia Eagles

While the Eagles’ retired defensive end plans to make his comeback next week, fans are hopeful. The Eagles are enjoying their win against the Vikings, scoring 28 points to 22.

Although Brandon is 37 years old, he claims he continues to work out. Therefore, he claims he is ready to join the Super Bowl-winning team.

Thus, he took his rightful place on the field as one of the most celebrated Eagles players ever. For sure, head coach Nick Sirianni is looking forward to the veteran players’ return.

Brandon was always a great leader both on the field and in the locker room. ESPN reports that Brandon’s amazing strip sack of Tom Brady was one of the game’s highlights.

The Eagles, currently leading the NFC East, are looking for a spark, particularly on the defensive unit. So far this year, there has been a struggle to generate consistent pressure at times.

It appears Brandon Graham’s first appearance will be in the game against the New York Giants.  For now, the Philadelphia Eagles have some time off before the game next Sunday.

That will give Brandon time to practice with his teammates.  For Eagles fans, the return of “BG” is a welcome, feel-good moment.

It signals that a beloved legend still has gas in the tank and is willing to do whatever it takes for the city.
