Lee has made films that made us all look at black life in America. One of Lee’s most famous films “Do the Right Thing”, caused a stir in Hollywood. We got to see the racial divide and racial tension in Bed -Stuy neighborhood.
Before the film “Do The Right Thing”, Lee’s debut film “She’s Gotta Have It”, portrayed a single black female in 3 different relationships. I remember the character Nola Darling(Tracy Camilla Johns), was liberated. She explored her sexuality in a way that was never seen on film before.

Colin Kaepernick Faced Racism In The NFL
Kaepernick was a star quarterback in the NFL from 2011-2016, being a 2-time Offensive player of the year in 2008 and 2010, having the NFL record for the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single game, and the NFL record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single postseason. But at the 3rd preseason game of the 2016 season, he was seen sitting down during the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner”. When asked why he would sit down when the National Anthem was playing, he said,
”I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder”.
From that point on, Kaepernick was allegedly banned from the NFL. As a free agent, no NFL team would hire him. Although, we have never known why teams shunned him. We will now get to see and hear Kaepernick’s own account of the events that led to the alleged end of his NFL career.
