Life After basketball has been good to Shaq. He is making more now than when he played in the NBA. Shaq’s annual salary as a basketball player was around $30 million. However, as an entrepreneur, Shaq is making much more.
Shaq Has Invested Very Well
Shaquille O’Neal was a force to reckoned with in the NBA. And, it turns out he still is. When most NBA players retire they lose a lot of income. Or, they don’t make great business moves. Shaq is the exception. He has become one of the most successful NBA players in the US. Shaq owns 155 Five Guys restaurants, 17 Auntie Anne’s, 150 Car washes, 40 24 hour Fitness Centers, a shopping center, a movie theater, and several Las Vegas nightclubs, as reported by Money. That is quite impressive, to say the least.
According to Money, Shaq is making $300 million per year. Not to mention, Shaq has partnered with “Papa John’s pizza restaurant. His partnership with at least 9 stores near Atlanta brings his endorsements to at least $8.25 million for a three-year deal with the pizza chain.
Shaq is making it a point to share his expertise with others. The basketball Hall of Famer is pushing his own brand of suits, sneakers, jewelry, and children’s books called ‘Little Shaq.’
