Killer Mike Drops Powerful ‘Run’ Music Video

Killer Mike releases a music video for his track, Run. And he brings Dave Chappelle and Young Thug along for the ride.

Killer Mike’s New Single, ‘Run‘ Features Dave Chappelle and Young Thug

Killer Mike drops the official music video for the single, Run.

It’s been more than a decade since the 47-year-old rapper/songwriter/actor/activist graced up with a new solo track.

But it looks like he’s come back swinging, and he got Dave Chappelle and Young Thug guesting.

As for the song itself, it is a powerful, political message directed by Adrian Villagomez.

According to an interview with Rolling Stone, Killer Mike is sharing the inspiration for the track –

“If you’re looking at this video, certain things are gonna stand out: Obviously, there’s a war going on for people who want justice and righteousness, and there’s a war that’s symbolized by what you would notice is old Confederate uniforms and Nazi-like uniforms…”

Adding the reason he included the Chappelle monologue clip, he stated that he was –

“inspired by the monologue that Dave Chappelle did at the beginning — to be representative that there’s a fight, the spiritual fight, that is going on every single day with us.”

But that’s not the only thing that’s going on in this song, it is also calling for the release of Young Thug and Gunna, as noted in Young Thug’s verse.

(Both are currently locked up as part of a 56-count RICO case)

During the vid, a soldier waves a white flag with the words “Free Thug, Protect Black Art, Free Gunna”.
