Young Thug And Gunna Involved In Massive Bust Involving Gang Activity

Both Young Thug and Gunna are in a heap of trouble.

According to law enforcement, the Atlanta rapper is currently locked up on charges of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act (Racketeer Influenced And Corrupt Organizations Act).

According to the website of the Justice Department, this is how they define the RICO Act –

“The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) of 1970 seeks to strengthen the legal tools in evidence gathering by establishing new penal prohibitions and providing enhanced sanctions and new remedies for dealing with the unlawful activities of those engaged in organized crime.”

And jail records show that Williams’ RICO Act charge stems from an alleged offense that occurred in January 2013.

While the gang activity charge is related to allegations from May 2018.

Additionally, according to TMZ, YT allegedly participated in criminal street gang activity, which is a felony.

This includes alleged involvement in the murder of rival gang member, YFNLucci.

Seems like rappers are always the target of law enforcement.

But do they deserve all the attention?

And that’s not all that went down today, 30-year-old YT had his home torn up by authorities, literally.

These folks ain’t playing, they were digging in his backyard and tearing down walls.

As for Gunna, He’s Facing His Own Charges

Reports show that Rapper Gunna (real name Sergio Giavanni Kitchens) is also named in the indictment and paperwork has been filed.

However, some reports say that Gunna is facing one charge of violating the RICO Act.

Further reports out of WSB-TV claim that Young thug is also accused of renting a car that was used in a murder.

According to news reporter Michael Seiden –

“The indictment includes charges of conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, murder, armed robbery, participation in criminal street gang activity…”

All in all, there are 56 counts in the grand jury indictment, involving 28 associates of the YSL gang.

Charging documents indicate that it was started in 2012 and is affiliated with the Bloods gang.

YSL is also the name of his record label, and several of those associated with the label are also involved.

So Where Do They Go From Here?

Young Thug, who rose to the national spotlight in 2014 with songs like “Stoner,” is an influential Grammy-winning hip-hop artist.

YT released 2 albums, So Much Fun in 2019, and Punk in 2021.

How Does the Indictment Describe The Alleged Conspiracy Charges?

According to the indictment, the alleged conspiracy charges are described as –

“preserving, protecting and enhancing the reputation, power and territory of the enterprise through acts of racketeering activity including murder, assault and threats of violence.”

YT has not had a bond hearing as of yet, but his attorney Brian Steel said to ABC News on Monday night –

“Mr. Williams has committed no violation of law, whatsoever. We will fight this case ethically, legally and zealously. Mr. Williams will be cleared.”

Both Young Thug and Gunna are from Atlanta.
