Teyana Taylor shines in a new movie role.
The 32-year-old singer/actress is starring in a Focus Features drama.
A Thousand And One, written and directed by A. V. Rockwell, is slated to hit movie theatres later this month.
This is Rockwell’s feature film debut, and Lena Waithe is among the producers.

Recently appearing at the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews, Teyana’s role is especially riveting.
Already the film is the winner of The Grand Jury Prize.
So What’s It All About?
After a stint in jail, she returns to her home in New York and discovers that her 6-year-old son has been forgotten about in the foster care system.
Here is the official plot synopsis of the film –
“A Thousand and One‘ follows unapologetic and free-spirited Inez (Teyana Taylor), who kidnaps her six-year-old son Terry from the foster care system. Holding onto their secret and each other, mother and son set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity, and stability, in a rapidly changing New York City.”
After watching the trailer, you realize that you will be on an emotional ride.
