Godzilla King of the Monsters

Godzilla King of the Monsters

The “Godzilla” series of movies has been a household name in the movie industry for decades, with a new installment or re-imagining coming out every couple years. Well, this years’ re-imagining of the classic story has come out.

What is “Godzilla”?

Godzilla is a Japanese created film series, created by Ishirō Honda. Since the first film was made in 1954, the monster has become a pop culture icon, with numerous re-imaginings being created. Some of these re-imaginings can be found in some films, like “Godzilla vs. Hedorah”, or “Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla”. Or in various other forms of media, like Video Games, Comic Books, and TV Shows.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” is the all-new movie that hit theaters on the 31st of May. This movie has been met with decent reviews, with it currently has a 6.6/10 on IMDB and a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. Well, this shoots pretty far below the target rating, since the movie had a budget of $170-200 million. In fact, the new “Godzilla” movie is currently projected to fall over $150 million+ under the gross value that the movie before it, “Kong: Skull Island” did.

What does the rating have to say about Godzilla?

Should we be worried about the IMDB rating and Rotten Tomatoes rating, or are people’s standards just unrealistic right now? Are these remakes of monster movies just not doing it for the public anymore, or is there something else about the movie, like the cinematography or the acting that just isn’t making it a fantastic movie? I guess the best way to find out is to go watch the movie!
