Mo’Nique and TS Madison: The Interview
Yesterday comedienne Mo’Nique opened up about being blackballed by Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey on the FOX Soul channel. Mo’Nique was stunned with feathered hair. Dancing gray strands lay in unison with a head of jet black hair along with TS Madison who recently went viral saying certain hairstyle made her feel like a “porta RIKUN”.
The ladies began by reminiscing of a time four years ago when they came together for The Queen’s Court. The Queen’s Court was a comedic show of pop-cultural commentary hosted by TS Madison and the “My Neck, My Back” rapper Khia.
Mo’Nique Shows Subtle Solidarity With Transwoman, TS Madison
The two recalled how technical difficulties caused that show to fall apart. Mo’Nique with all due candor expressed how impressed she was with TS Madison for remaining professional. Mo’Nique bestowed upon her a generous compliment saying “This is the difference between a star and a celebrity. A Celebrity, she said, needs the lights camera, and action whereas a star is going to shine, period.
After sharing their emotional moment the two engaged in discussion about a decades-long misunderstanding. Mo’Nique was blackballed in Hollywood after refusing to do free press for the movie “Precious”. Originally, Oprah called her and offered to send her private jet to take Mo’Nique on press tours. Mo’Nique declined, saying she would rather spend precious time with her family than work for free.

Sometime later, she ran into Tyler Perry who cleared a room to speak with her. Everyone left but her security. Tyler Perry urged her to consider doing the press tour for free. He reminded her that winning awards for this movie, which she did, would result in being paid millions just to show up from there on out. Mo’Nique stood her ground, repeating, that she does not work for free. She reminded the audience as an African American during Black History Month, that this is not slavery, and that her ancestors worked for free for long enough.
Tyler Perry Blackballs Mo’Nique, Oprah Remains Silent
It was shortly after this that Tyler Perry began to tell others she was difficult to work with. Although Oprah did not say the same, she remained quiet, as did Lee Daniels. Tyler Perry admitted that he wronged her in a private conversation with Mo’Nique and her husband. However, when rumors began to swirl about him blackballing her he did not approve. He then said that he would meet with Mo’Nique, without her husband, in which meeting she must apologize to him and Oprah for saying they blackballed her.
Mo’Nique Proves Her Case With a Damning Recording of Tyler Perry Admitting His Fault
Mo’Nique recorded the conversation she had with Tyler Perry where he admitted to blackballing her, basically spreading reviews of her that made her undesirable to work with.
