Mary J. Blige to star in Power Spinoff, Power Book II: Ghost. While the final season is approaching soon, get ready for the popular crime drama to branch out. Mary J. Blige is set as a lead character in the first of several planned series spinoffs, as reported by Essence.
Mary J. Blige – I’ve Known So Many Tasha’s, I’ve Dated So Many Ghosts
Everybody’s favorite STARZ series Power will premiere it’s 6th and final season next month, and Mary J. Blige will be a star in the spinoff. But Power will not go away completely, a spinoff is currently in pre-production. As announced Friday at the Starz panel at TCA by the Executive Producer Courtney Kemp, she stated,
“Today we are pleased to announce that we are in pre-production on the first of what we know will be a collection of series inspired by the dynamic world of Power, Power Book II: Ghost will continue the journey of some of Power’s most controversial characters.”
In a surprise appearance, Mary J. Blige walked out onto the stage to share the exciting news of her joining the cast, commenting that –
“This is probably going to be the most exciting thing that will happen to me this year … I’ve known so many Tashas, I’ve known so many Ghosts. I’ve dated so many Ghosts. I’m a huge fan for life, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.”
