Lil Nas X sued for $25 million dollars. Along with Sony, who signed him to a record deal, 25-year-old Hip Hop sensation Lil Nas X has found himself in a lot of hot water.
Did Lil Nas X Lift Parts of an ’80’s R&B Song Without Permission?
No one can deny the super rise to stardom of rapper Lil’ Nas X. Tying the record for most weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks, his “Old Town Road” has had a life all it’s own. Even the Country chart was smitten with his arrival until the hit song was controversially pulled from the list.
Though he finds himself entangled in this massive lawsuit, he is not alone. Also being sued by this company called The Music Force is his record label Sony, reports TMZ.
According to the lawsuit Lil Nas X posted one of his tracks on YouTube, Soundcloud and Spotify which allegedly contained parts of an 80’s R&B song without permission. With almost 4 million views on YouTube, Nas X stands to get paid.
Nas barely got on the scene, could his 15 minutes of fame be over? What do you guys think, is all this really worth $25 million dollars?
