Will Smith projects are being put on the back burner.

The superstar actor is feeling the effects of the slap felt around the world.

You can’t get away from all the news surrounding the Oscars’ live broadcast where Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock.

Since then, Will has apologized 3 times.

First, when he accepted his award for Best Actor for his role as Serena and Venus’ father Richard Williams.

Though he never mentioned Chris Rock by name, he apologized to The Academy, the audience, and others.

Second, when he posted on social media. That time he named Chris Rock and spoke of him directly.

And he apologized again after resigning from the Academy.

However, that has not extinguished the fallout from the incident.

Will Smith has several projects he was actively working on, some already have the green lights.

So What’s Going On With Will’s Upcoming Projects?

Before the slap, Netflix had put out a call for a director for ‘Fast and Loose’.

However, Netflix quietly moved the project to the back burner afterward.

Additionally, the sequel to ‘I Am Legend 2‘ which is due out in 2023 may also be in limbo, which has Michael B. Jordan attached to it.

Will it be released?

And the latest incident is the film ‘Bad Boys 4′, which is also due to be released in 2023.

Smith had already received 40 pages of the script.

Though it was said to be already in production, Sony apparently halted the project.

Another film on Apple+, ‘Emancipation’ is in post-production and was due to be released this year.

So far, there is no word yet on what impact the slap will have on that project.

Chris Rock Is Not Entirely On The Good Side Of That Oscar Night

Several reports have come out saying that his joke about Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith was in fact inappropriate.

And he’s been coming for her with flippant jokes for years.

Also, he has been slammed for introducing the winners of the Best Original Documentary Oscar.

The winner was for the documentary Summer Of Soul (…Or When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised).

Rock announced the winner as “Ahmir ‘QuestLove’ Thompson and 4 white guys.”

That didn’t go over well at all with one of the producers, Joseph Patel (who is South Asian).

He lashed out at both Will Smith and Chris Rock and accused them of robbing them of their winning Oscar moment.

No one knows how this will all pan out, but at some point, they used to be friends.

Will they ever get back on friendly terms?

Though neither one of these two A-list celebrities has come out unscathed, celebrities and common folk alike seem to be taking sides.
