The second person to accuse Perry has revealed a disturbing pattern of alleged misconduct previously unknown to the public.

Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry is facing a second major legal battle this year after a former actor filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault.
In addition, he is accusing Tyler of battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. This news is alarming to Tyler’s fans, who adore him.
The new complaint was filed by Mario Rodriguez in California on December 25, 2025.
He alleges that Perry made unwanted sexual advances while promising him acting roles. According to People, Mario is asking for $77 million in damages.
Mario is represented by attorney Jonathan J. Delshad, who also represents Derek Dixon.
However, Tyler is not taking these allegations lightly; he has hired attorney Alex Spiro. Alex is claiming this is another money grab.
In other words, Alex claims these two men are fabricating the allegations against Tyler.
The Allegations
Mario, a model and actor who played a minor role in Perry’s 2016 film Boo! A Madea Halloween claims that Tyler leveraged his power. The filmmaker allegedly made unwanted advances to Mario.
According to the lawsuit, the alleged misconduct included:
- Inappropriate Touching: Rodriguez alleges that during a movie screening at Perry’s home, the filmmaker touched him inappropriately.
- Physical Aggression: The complaint details incidents in 2018 and 2019 where Perry allegedly attempted to unbuckle Rodriguez’s pants and forcibly placed the actor’s hand on Perry’s genitals.
- Quid Pro Quo Offers: Perry allegedly told Rodriguez, “If you were to just be with me, I would take care of you for the rest of your life,” while dangling future acting opportunities.
- Cash Payments: The suit claims that on multiple occasions following these encounters, Perry gave Rodriguez $5,000 in cash before sending him away.
A Pattern Of Allegations
This legal action follows a previous $260 million lawsuit filed in June 2025 by actor Derek Dixon.
Derek, who worked on Perry’s series The Oval and Ruthless, has made similar allegations against Tyler. He similarly alleged that Perry created a “coercive, sexually exploitative dynamic.”
And, Derek alleges that Tyler used character plotlines—such as his character being shot. In other words, Tyler allegedly used this as leverage to ensure Dixon’s compliance with sexual demands.
Perry’s Defense
Tyler Perry’s legal team has vehemently denied all accusations. His attorney, Alex Spiro, dismissed the new filing as a “money grab” and noted that both plaintiffs share the same lawyer.
Spiro claimed that the previous matter involving Dixon had “failed,” though Delshad clarified that Dixon’s case is still active and was moved from California to a federal court in Georgia.
