Details of the Alleged Incident
According to court documents and an arrest warrant obtained from the Sandy Springs Police Department, the charges stem from a physical altercation that took place on May 9, 2026, at Morgan’s home.
The argument reportedly began over text messages found on Morgan’s phone. According to the affidavit:
-
The Altercation: Morgan’s wife, Alicia Brown, stated that the verbal argument escalated when Morgan tackled her to retain possession of his smartphone.
-
The Injury: Brown then went to their basement office to unplug a computer. Morgan allegedly followed her, grabbed her arms, and forcefully pushed her. The force of the shove caused her to stumble headfirst into an office door, resulting in a severe laceration above her left eye that required numerous stitches and left permanent disfigurement.
-
The Evidence: The entire physical encounter in the basement office was reportedly captured on an interior Ring security camera.
-
Child Cruelty Charge: The couple’s 13-year-old son was upstairs in his bedroom during the dispute and heard the entire physical altercation, which led to the third-degree child cruelty charge.
Medical staff at an urgent care facility originally contacted the police due to the severity of Brown’s head injury. Brown initially withheld cooperation from investigators out of fear and concern that the public would not believe her due to her husband’s celebrity status. A judge ultimately signed the arrest warrant on June 18, 2026, following a thorough review of the video footage and medical records.
