The alleged incident occurred on June 13, 2025. Sources are reporting that R. Kelly was allegedly given an overdose of medication by prison staff.
While currently serving a lengthy prison sentence, R. Kelly was placed in solitary confinement on June 10th. This placement happened as a result of his legal team’s request that he be moved.
As you are all aware, his legal team claims that R. Kelly is in danger. There is an alleged murder-for-hire plot being waged against him. After being placed at Butner Federal Correctional Institution, R. Kelly overdosed.
Alleged Overdose Emergency
Sources close to R. Kelly reported that he was rushed to Duke University Hospital after the incident. So far, we know that R. Kelly was allegedly given an unusually high dose of anxiety and sleep medication.
As a result, he allegedly collapsed in his cell. For this reason, his lawyers are requesting that R. Kelly be released on house arrest immediately. Therefore, we can understand why his attorneys are requesting his release.
Can you see why R. Kelly’s attorneys are diligently working to secure his release. It does sound like a murder-for-hire plot is unfolding against the singer.

“calling Kelly’s latest claims an attempt to manipulate the court and cast himself as a victim. “This is the behavior of an abuser and a master manipulator on display,” the response stated, adding that Kelly’s legal team filed in a court without jurisdiction and exaggerated the conditions of his confinement.”
Prosecutors think he is carefully orchestrating the R. Kelly situation. But how does this explain him being given an alleged overdose of meds?
