Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa Announce their Divorce on Social Media

Lisa Bonet and her husband Jason Momoa have ended their decade and a half long relationship.

The “Aquaman” star in a joint statement, said via his Instagram page Wednesday that he and his wife are indeed parting ways.

“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding (tilde) and our family is of no exception,” he emoted in the post, also clarifying that they are making their split public so that, “as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.”

Momoa, 42, and Bonet, 54, met and began dating in 2005 and were married in 2017. The couple has two children.

In addition to playing Bill Cosby’s daughter on “The Cosby Show” and its spin-off, “A Different World,” Bonet had previously been married to rocker Lenny Kravitz.

Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet shocked their fans Wednesday by announcing they were “parting ways in marriage.” The Aquaman star, 42, and Bonet, 54, have been together since 2005 and wed four years ago.

On social media, Momoa wrote, “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.”

Lenny Kravitz’s former wife Bonet does not have social media. The rockstar and Bonet share daughter Zoë Kravitz, 33, and remain close, extended family. The currently divorcing couple share two teens, ages 14 and 13.

Momoa Loved Bonet even Before they Became Romantically Involved.

“Listen it was more than [love at first sight]. Ever since I was 8 years old and I saw her on the TV I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one,'” he told James Corden years ago. “I was like, ‘I’m going to stalk you for the rest of my life, and I’m going to get you.’ I’m a full-fledged stalker.”

Eventually, they met at a jazz club through mutual friends.

Bonet, who became famous as Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show in the 1980s, was scouted long before then by Momoa.

“In that moment, love came and it came big, and he did not run as I think a lot of men do,” Lisa Bonet said in an interview with Porter magazine in 2018. “He basically picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, caveman style!”

In 2007, they welcomed their first child together, Lola. The following year, Nakoa-Wolf was born.

Momoa raised Bonet’s daughter, actress Zoë Kravitz, from a previous marriage to rockstar Lenny Kravitz. The two also became extremely close, considering themselves to be brothers.

In regards to their divorce, Momoa had this to say on social media,

“The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become…,” he continued. “Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life & our Children. Teaching our Children What’s possible ~Living the Prayer May Love Prevail.”
