Yachty, known for his colorful style and unique sound, recently made headlines after criticizing Dr. Umar Johnson’s stance on Black women getting BBLs. Dr. Umar was a guest on Lil Yachty’s podcast, “A Safe Place.”
There were some topics of discussion where both men differed. One particular topic was cosmetic surgery for Black women, as stated by XXL Mag.
This popular cosmetic surgery BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) has become the norm for many women.
In recent years Black women have injected their butts and breast with silicone more and more. It was a little disheartening to hear Dr. Umar say that Black men and the hip-hop community are partly responsible.

He claims that Black men allegedly objectify Black women. As a result, Black women want bodies like the models they see in videos. Also, a lot of young Black women want to be more desirable.
Therefore, they pay thousands of dollars to alter their God-given bodies. In response to Dr. Umar Johnson’s claims, Lil Yachty allegedly believes Black women are influenced by their friends.
That is one of the primary reasons Black women may get BBLs. Whether you believe Dr. Umar or Yachty, it is problematic for Black women to get these silicone injections.
Especially since so many of these injections could lead to infections and possible death, as stated by Essence. Dr. Umar made some very compelling statements about the topic.
On the other hand, Yachty had some excellent points, as well. Overall, the conversations were very informative. And it is a topic that should be further discussed.
