Jennifer Hudson Adds EGOT To Her Resume
Jennifer Hudson has officially reached EGOT status.
Additionally, at 40 years old, she becomes the youngest female to achieve this status.
This is after winning a TONY award on Sunday night.
Long being a dream of the singer/actress, it’s finally come true.
In case you are not familiar with the term, it’s when you are a winner in all four of the major American entertainment awards.
Here is the list of awards that gave Jennifer Hudson the honor –
- EMMY for her role in the daytime series, Baba Yaga
- GRAMMY for Best R&B Album
- OSCAR for Dreamgirls
- TONY for producer of A Strange Loop, which won Best Musical.

Jennifer Hudson is only the 17th person in history to be an EGOT winner.
Also, only one other black woman has bragging rights for the honor, and that is Whoopi Goldberg.
Since coming on the scene as a contestant on the highly successful singing show, American Idol, the accolades keep coming for Hudson.
She received her Hollywood Walk Of Fame back in 2013.
Time named Jennifer (who also goes by J.Hud) one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2020.
