This was the first time the Roots Picnic was held at the legendary “Belmont Plateau.” Many from across the USA were present to see one of the best entertainment venues. Philadelphia is known for its great entertainment, especially music. And, we were not disappointed this weekend. However, one of the highlights was rapper extradioner, Jay-Z. Not only did Jay -Z put on a great performance, but his clapback at his rivals Drake, Dame Dash, Nicki Minaj, and Jaquar Wright was epic.

The hip-hop world is reeling after Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter broke years of solo concert silence to deliver a masterclass in lyrical warfare. Headlining night one of the 18th annual Roots Picnic at Philadelphia’s Belmont Plateau, the 56-year-old rap icon didn’t just run through his legendary catalog alongside The Roots—he used a blistering four-minute acapella freestyle to clear the air and settle years of simmering industry grievances.
While Hov is famous for taking the “high road” and staying silent in the face of public criticism, he completely took off the gloves on Saturday night, dropping highly calculated, devastating bars aimed directly at Jaguar Wright, Drake, and Nicki Minaj.
