According to ABC 7 News: “After just two full days of deliberations, a federal jury on Wednesday convicted six reputed gang members of the brazen killing of Chicago rapper FBG Duck in the Gold Coast.”

After months of investigation and legal proceedings, justice has finally been served for the fatal shooting of rapper FBG Duck. The six men convicted of Duck’s murder are Marcus “Muwop” Smart, Christopher “C Thang” Thomas, Kenneth “Kenny Mac” Roberson, Charles “C Murda” Liggins, Tacarlos “Los” Offerd, and Ralph “Teezy” Turpin.

“Those who were known for their involvement in Chicago’s alleged street violence have been convicted in connection with the incident.The feds have tied the shooting to a brutal gang war between Duck’s Tookaville faction of the Gangster Disciples and the O-Block set of the Black Disciples. The yearslong conflict was stoked by drill rap diss tracks between Duck and King Von, whose real name is Dayvon Bennett, an O-Block leader who allegedly placed a bounty on Duck before being shot to death months later.”

Carlton ‘FBG Duck’ Weekly was gunned down while he, his GF, and another woman were shot. Duck was ambushed outside a clothing store and shot multiple times. Also, his GF and a female were wounded.

Some witnesses gave accounts of what happened, saying four gunmen got out of two vehicles and fired a barrage of bullets.

Duck was hit several times, while his girlfriend and another woman were wounded. He was taken to Northern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced DAA.

According to Hip Hop DX, The trial brought to light the horrifying details surrounding the rapper’s death. And shed light on the ongoing gang-related violence plaguing the city.

FBG Duck’s Family Finally Receive Justice For His Murder

On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, all six of the alleged gang members were convicted of murdering FBG Duck. The prosecution presented compelling evidence, including surveillance footage and witness testimonies.

Offered, LIggins, Roberson, and Smart were all found guilty of five of seven counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

However, the other two suspects, Thomas and Turpin, allegedly gave the shooters Duck’s location. Now, the alleged gang members are waiting to be sentenced.

The verdict provides some solace to the grieving family and friends of FBG Duck. His mother, LaSheena Weekly, celebrated the verdict with his family and friends, as stated by the Chicago Sun-Times.

Weekly shared this,

“Knowing that they will not do that to another family brings me comfort, knowing they will not terrorize nobody else. They’re done, the whole crew. O Block and everything of it is done.”

She added: “I could never want another mother to feel like this, to see their child shot down in the street like a dog. They had FBG Duck death parties. That’s how much it meant to them.”

The fatal shooting of rapper FBG Duck was an immense loss for the music industry. And a tragic reminder of the ongoing gang-related violence gripping Chicago.

The recent convictions of the alleged perpetrators bring a sense of closure to the case. All while offering a slight sense of justice to the rapper’s loved ones.
