In his first season with Dallas, he led with 975 yards for rushing and 10 touchdowns. Clearly, the young running back was destined for stardom. Fans named him, “Marion the Barbarian.”

Sadly, Barber will not be here to celebrate his 39 birthday on June 10. Frisco, Texas police responded to a call on an “unattended death.” I am not sure what that means.
But when police arrived allegedly Barber was dead. Or that is what reports are saying. At the time, Barber’s name was not released. We only know that the person was allegedly dead.
Additionally, we do not know what was the cause of death. What we do know is Barber had some issues with his mental health. Therefore, it is possible that may have contributed to his death.
Of course, this is only speculation. Heartfelt condolences are pouring out for Barber. Dallas Cowboys spokesperson released this statement,
“We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III,” the team said. “Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down. He had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to Marion’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
