The Baton Rouge native, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, has had a tumultuous relationship with the law throughout his career. The Arrest: In May 2023, Boosie was arrested in San Diego after police spotted a firearm in his waistband. This alleged incident happened during an Instagram Live stream. Because he is a convicted felon, it is illegal for him to possess a gun.

Boosie Badazz Appeals To President Trump For A Pardon
Baton Rouge rapper Boosie has intensified his efforts to secure a presidential pardon. He is asking President Trump to help him avoid prison time. Boosie, who recently pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
He has turned to both social media and professional lobbyists to make his case for clemency. Boosie has been vocal about what he perceives as a double standard in the justice system.
On social media, he addressed President Trump directly, noting that other high-profile figures had received pardons. Pointing out the obvious that others have been pardoned for similar gun-related offenses.
He has argued that, as a non-violent felon, his Second Amendment rights should be restored.
“Trump CHECK MY CASE OUT ‼️… I was told I am the only person in the country facing that charge now,” Boosie wrote in a public plea on X.
