Former Wu-Tang Worker Wins $7 Million Settlement!!!!! Grant Williams, a former Wu-Tang Clan studio worker has won a $7 Million settlement against NYC. He spent 23 years in prison for a 1996 murder that he didn’t commit.

Grant Williams: From Prisoner To Exonerated!!!!!

Firstly, according to vibe.com, Grant Williams, a Staten Island native who spent 23 years incarcerated after being wrongfully convicted of murder, has won a lawsuit against NYC.

The 51 year old was accused of killing Shdell Lewis outside a public housing complex in his hometown in 1996. He was paroled in 2019 and exonerated in July of 2021.

Secondly, after being cleared of all charges, he sued the city and the comptroller’s office has opted to settle his claim, rewarding him with $7 Million.

Williams’ attorney was quoted as saying,

This will assist him in going forward and trying to get back on his feet.

The city did the right thing.

In addition to the $7 Million settlement, NY State also settled a separate claim with Williams for $5 Million.

Thirdly, when Williams was in prison, he would always say to the fellow prisoners,

I used to tell everybody in prison, I am innocent.

They would say,

Oh Williams everybody says that

I said,

I am telling the truth. One day you’re gonna see me on the news and they’re gonna say that I was innocent.

Third, while incarcerated, Williams recieved his associate’s degree and hopes to help children and other wrongfully convicted people.

Lastly, Grant Williams has finally been exonerated and compensated, even though I don’t this that it was enough.

In conclusion, I hope he can get back everything that was taken from him when served 23 years in prison for a crime that he didn’t commit.
