Fat Joe On HBOs’s The Shop

Fat Joe Dubs Lil Wayne The Best. Of course, Fat Joe is known to give credit where it’s due. Recently, he joined Don Lemon and Amy Schumer as guests on Uninterrupted.

The Bronx rapper is the head honcho of The Terror Squad. So, he’s surrounded by top-tier artists like Remy Ma no matter what. However, Fat Joe took the time to remind listeners of Lil Waynes’ GOAT status.

Basically, he explained that Weezy respectfully picked up where 2Pac left off. Also, he acknowledged how driven Wayne was. Here’s a little insight:

“I don’t want nobody to kill me, but the best… Lil Wayne. Wayne taught me so, what happens is, Lil Wayne took up from where Tupac was, he was putting out two albums a year. This guy was never in the club, he was the No. 1 artist in the world.”

Does this come as a surprise?

That One Time In The Studio

Furthermore, Joey Crack shares an interesting anecdote about Tunechi in the studio.

“He was just in that studio, in that hit factory, in that studio. So, I was privy to being there with Wayne ’cause I live in Miami and this guy, he would just get a beat, and the guy starts sparing with the speaker.”

Additionally, the Make It Rain rapper clarified exactly what he meant about Waynes’ energy during that recording session.

“He’s in a little room and there’s big, giant speakers, and he’s just there like, staring at the speaker. He goes in the booth, ‘I am a beast, feed me Hip Hop, feed me…’ I was like holy fuck. This guy took the record. He’s a beast!”

Undoubtedly a story like this doesn’t sound far-fetched at all. As you know, the two rappers share a few song features such as We Takin’ Over and Make It Rain. Over the years, Lil Wayne surpassed many expectations. The guy singlehandedly took metaphors to another level.

Certain generations will never get to witness firsthand just what Joe’s talking about. I guess you just had to be there.
