She has allegedly directed her aim at music mogul, rapper Jay-Z. And, she is taking no prisoners, as she makes these allegations. On July 8, 2025, Nicki claims she is owed a whopping $200 million.
It appears Jay-Z sold Tidal in 2021, allegedly for $302 million. Having said this, Nicki was led to believe her share of the sale was worth just $1 million. But upon further investigation, Nicki thinks she should have gotten much more.
Nicki Stakes Her Claim In The Sale Of Tidal Streaming Platform
Nicki Minaj was one of 15 artists who had a stake in Tidal, as stated by Vibe. Tidal was launched in 2015 when Jay-Z bought it from Aspiro. He purchased the company for around $56 million, as noted by Forbes.
When Jay-Z obtained Tidal, Nicki, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Kanye bought shares. Nicki claims she had $1,ooo,ooo. In Nicki’s estimation, those shares were calculated at about 100-200MM.
Furthermore, Nicki claims that if she recoups her money, she could make a lot. For instance, Nicki would like to use the money to fund her #StudentOfTheGame initiative. The initiative will cover tuition and student loans.
At this time, Jay-Z has not answered any claims about owing Nicki money. Needless to say, Nicki claims she still believes Jay-Z is one of the best rappers alive.
