Snoop and Dr. Dre Reunite. According to HipHopDX, the pair is currently cooking some new heat.
As you might know, Dre played an integral role in Snoop Dogg’s career. He helped catapult him into mainstream hip hop.
Specifically, the collaborative geniuses released Snoop’s debut album nearly 29 years ago. Over the years, the Southern California artists have grown to leave a huge imprint on the rap genre.
Well, fans can prepare for nostalgic vibes on Uncle Snoop’s upcoming album Missionary. Importantly, the body of work is produced by none other than Dre.
Recently, Snoop sat with Stephen A. Smith on his podcast. Here’s what he had to say about the project:
“I’ma tell you this, you’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months.”
The Grammy-nominated lyricist added:
“And it’ll be done in November. It’s produced by Dr. Dre, it’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.”
It’s hard to believe thirty years have passed since the world was introduced to Calvin ‘Snoop Doggy Dogg’ Broadus.
Of course, both remain icons in their own rights. For example, Dre went on to produce top songs for artists like Eminem, The Game, and Mary J. Blige.
In fact, MJB joined him alongside Snoop, 50 Cent, and Eminem to name a few, for the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. As expected, she performed the Dre produced classic Family Affair.
Unsurprisingly, the star-studded performance snagged an Emmy. Although there’s no confirmed release date for Missionary—fans can anticipate the project around the Holidays.
