Rockmond Dunbar Sues After Dismissal On TV Show 9-1-1
Rockmond Dunbar is headed to court, sues his former employers Disney and 20th Television.
All because of the way he exited the hit tv show, 9-1-1.
His reason? The actor claims he was discriminated against when he was ousted.
Claiming race and religion as factors, you may recall Dunbar’s abrupt exit from the series.
As you will recall, Dunbar starred in the t.v. drama since day 1 – along with Angela Bassett.
And fans were left stunned when at the end of the last season, his character announced that he was moving away.
Initially, fans were led to believe that his exit was his decision.
Yet, according to court documents, Rockmond is alleging that he was in fact let go.
By being dismissed, he states that his career is severely damaged.
Apparently, Dunbar submitted both a religious and a medical exemption for not abiding by the requirement to be vaccinated against COVID.
At first, according to paperwork, he was assured that accommodations would be made since he was unvaccinated.
However, things did not go as he had hoped.
Instead, Dunbar claims he was not allowed on set.
Also, he was assured that his character’s storyline would have him leaving on a temporary basis.
So he expected that the door was open for him to eventually return.
But did that happen…not exactly.
Did Disney and 20th Television Make Rockmond Dunbar Out To Be An Anti-Vaxxer?
Apparently, at some point, Disney and 20th Century changed course.
Rockmond Dunbar says in his suit that he was fired in retaliation.
And get this…he also says he was never paid the hundreds of thousands of dollars he was owed.
That’s not all though.
The actor further alleges that the studios also made him out to be an anti-vaxxer…deliberately.
These actions, in his eyes, made him black-listed in Hollywood.
Neither Disney nor 20th Television have yet to comment on the lawsuit.
