Lil Durk Launches Career Program

Lil Durk Helps Chicago Youth. Often times rappers get a bad name. The media focuses on violence with rappers. However, there is not much emphasis on the good.

But Banks is getting rid of the stigma. His career readiness program for Chicago youth is helping. In fact, Banks is sponsoring at least 20 young black men.

These individuals will have a chance to visit historically black colleges and universities. According to Black America Web, the 20 young men are going to be flown to NYC.

While there they will meet with C-Suite executives from Sony, Alamo Records, and the NY Knicks. Each will have a chance to shadow seasoned professionals.

In other words, they will watch how each entity operates. By doing so, they will learn what happens behind the scenes. Especially, as it relates to the running of a business.

In addition, the same group will tour HBCUs in Atlanta. This will help them understand college life on campus. Also, they get to visit NASCAR. Now, that may not seem like a lot.

But for inner-city youth it is huge.  For some young men, it will be a dream come true. to begin with, some inner-city youth never leave their neighborhood.

Nor do they have the opportunity to visit businesses and college universities. Impoverished neighborhoods still struggle. Therefore, creating these kinds of opportunities can make a difference.

It is important to provide positive choices for our young people. Otherwise, the street life will appeal to them more.
