And, Deion is considered one of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history. Also, Deion is known for his speed and agility on the field. Because of his football career, Deion has become a household name.
However, in recent years, Deion entered the world of coaching college football. For Deion, it was a natural progression. After his success in the NFL, Deion became the head coach of the Jackson State Tigers.
This transition to college coaching took place in 2020. The Jackson State Tigers had a winning season under Coach Deion’s leadership.
But his coaching was short-lived, as Deion left Jackson to coach for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Undergoes Groundbreaking Surgery
Coach Deion’s doctor, Janet Kukreja, held a news conference about his surgery. According to Yahoo Sports, Dr. Jane revealed that Deion’s bladder had been removed due to cancer.
Therefore, Deion was given a new bladder to help the healing process. Afterwards, Deion shared this, “The process wasn’t easy,” and he was offered multiple options.
Dr. Janet who is the director of urological uncology at University of Colorado presented the best course of action. That is why Deion’s cancerous tumor was and bladder was removed.
The 57-year-old NFL Hall of Famer is recovering nicely. So, Deion’s original bladder was removed, and a transplant from a donor was put in its place.
As we mentioned, it was the best course of action for Deion, who was presented with other options. Now, Deion has gone on social media to talk about his experience.
He hopes that others will seek out medical care sooner rather than later.
