We need to talk about Cosby. After all the allegations, the jail time, the exoneration, etc. we still feel some type of way.

“We Need To Talk About Cosby” Dives Deep Into Bill Cosby’s Legal Troubles

84-year-old Bill Cosby once called America’s dad, is the subject of a new 4-part docu-series.

Directed by W. Kamau Bell, We Need To Talk About Cosby aims to dive deep into Bill’s legal troubles.

More than 60 women made accusations against him.

Back in September of 2018, Bill Cosby was convicted of 3 counts of aggravated indecent assault.

He was sentenced to 3-10 years.

The Supreme Court overturned his conviction, and the legendary comedian/actor was released from a Pennsylvania prison on June 30, 2021.

After serving nearly 3 years behind bars.

Already Cosby’s camp is criticizing the project, releasing this statement –

“Mr. Cosby has spent more than 50 years standing with the excluded; made it possible for some to be included; standing with the disenfranchised; and standing with those women and men who were denied respectful work… because of race and gender… within the expanses of the entertainment industries.”

Responding to that statement, W. Kamau Bell released his own statement –

“The funny thing about this is, because of how America works and how racism works here, there are ways in which a system of white supremacy would target a powerful Black man to bring him down – and that has happened throughout history in this country. But that doesn’t always mean that the Black man didn’t do something wrong.”

“There are racist forces that are happy for Bill Cosby’s downfall, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t more than 60 women who have accused him of rape and sexual assault, and [that doesn’t mean that] those aren’t credible accusations.”
