Breaking: Rapper Nipsey Hussel Shot And Killed In LA!!!
BREAKING: Rapper Nipsey Hussel shot and killed in LA. The shooting took place in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, south of the Crenshaw area. Ermias Asghedom aka Nipsey Hussle was near his clothing store called the Marathon.
Nipsey was shot multiply times outside clothing store
Nipsey Hussel was given CPR on the scene but later died in the hospital. Sources from TMZ say that Nipsey may have had ties to the street gang, The Crips. Nipsey has been in several music collaborations with rappers like YG and The Game. Nipsey has also worked with Drake, Childish Gambino, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Young Thug, Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo, Kirko Bangz, Dom Kennedy, Tyga, Jadakiss, Chamillionaire and countless others.
Nipsey was known for his involvement in the community
Nipsey Hussel worked to prevent gang violence by spear heading an art initiative in his home neighborhood called “Destination Crenshaw.” And, he launched Vector 9 a learning center dedicated to developing science and technology education. Nipsey shared his reasons for working with at risk youth in an interview last year:
“I grew up in gang culture. We dealt with death, with murder. It was like living in a war zone, where people die on these blocks and everybody is a little bit immune to it. I guess they call it post – traumatic stress, when you have people that have been at war for such a long time. I think L.A. suffers from that because it’s not normal yet we embrace it like is after a while.”
Nipsey Hussel managed to escape the gang violence and was able to give back to his community. It is such a tragedy that his life would be taken by the same gun violence he was trying to rid the community of.
