Does Tyrese Have A Valid Point?
Tyrese spoke out shortly after the MTV Video Music Award show aired. In his very interesting Instagram post, Tyrese mentioned that it’s being popular rather than talent that is celebrated, as reported by Atlanta Black Star.
“Everything has become one gigantic ANTIC… Award Shows, social media, and life feels like one gigantic ANTIC. I miss the days when popularity was actually based on TALENT…. Hit records and hit movies….”
Did Tyrese just call out the music industry or not? Has the music and entertainment industry become a “sh*t show.” Or are people more interested in antics smoke and mirrors rather than real talent? Some of those who commented on Tyrese’s post agreed with him. It appears that the most popular music artist wins over talent. At least, it seems so on the music award shows.
At any rate, Tyrese does know about talent. Especially since he is one of the most talented R&B singers today. Can we assume that Tyrese was talking about Lil Nas X who performed on the MTV award show? Or was Tyrese just venting. Be that as it may, it does look like music today has taken a different approach. Whatever happened to raw talent?
