Megan Thee Stallion Wins Songwriter Of The Year. Of course, the Houston Hottie remains on a success high after releasing her 2nd studio album Traumazine last month.

Needless to say, the project is a fan favorite. It boasts some diversity and features artists like Key Glock, Latto, and Jhene Aiko.

Well, Meg officially has yet another reason to celebrate her success. The annual BMI Awards took place last night in Miami. And she found herself tied with another songwriter for an award.

Thus, Meg Thee Stallion and Christopher ‘YC’ Pearson were equally recognized as songwriters of the year.

Specifically, the Houston native received the accolade for co-writing three of her top singles Body, Cry Baby, and Thot Shit.

Additionally, YC earned the honor for co-writing Moneybagg Yo’s Time Today and Wockesha. 

As well as, Pooh Shiesty’s Back in Blood feat. Lil Durk.

Of course, the event was star-studded—and hosted by BMI’s Mike O’Neill alongside Catherine Brewton.

Also, Busta Rhymes received an icon award for his “defining impact on hip-hop and for mentoring the next generation of talent.”
