The iconic rapper, known for hits like “Ruffneck” and “Cha Cha Cha,” has recently mentioned she will release new music soon. Lyte has continued to work in the music industry. However, it has been about 10 years since her last album.

Lana Michelle Moorer burst onto the music scene in the late 1980s and quickly became a trailblazer for female rappers. Her unique style and empowering lyrics garnered a large following.

And Lyte solidified her status as a hip-hop legend. After taking a break from music to focus on other projects, MC Lyte has returned with a new sound that stays true to her roots.

Her song entitled ‘Woman’ with female rapper Salt of Salt-N-Pepa was released in March.

According to The Source, Lyte was interviewed by Rock The Bells Radio and discussed her new music.

Fans of MC Lyte are thrilled to see her back in action. The new album should be released sometime in August.  After a 10-year Hiatus, Lyte will hit us with some new tracks.

Although Lyte has not revealed the album title, fans are excited. Throughout the years, Lyte has appeared on several tracks with Positive K’s (2019) song “I’m Still Not Having It.”

Forbes stated that she contributed to Estelle and Syleena Johnson’s “Can’t Help Myself.” Also on the song were singers “Ann Nesby,” “Saint Ashleey,” and “The Boys & Girls Club” of the Gulf Coast.
