Lil Weezyana Fest Postponed Until October. Fans of Lil Wayne were excited to attend his upcoming Lil Weezyana Festival. Unexpectedly, the event has been pushed back.

Lil Wayne Postpones Lil Weezyana Festival

Lil Weezyana Fest Postponed Until October. Rapper Lil Wayne’s annual festival was supposed to take place August 27th.

Initially, Young Money president Mack Maine announced the festival saying:

“We’re glad to be back home. New Orleans birthed us and we can travel and hit the stage anywhere in the world, but there’s no place like home!”

Additionally, he confirmed they’d honor those effected by Hurricane Katrina 17 years ago.

“As always, we will be honoring the many lives lost in Hurricane Katrina as this year marks the 17th year anniversary. Wayne is excited to get back home as this one will be one you won’t want to miss!”

Thus, you can only imagine the excitement from Weezy fans. The NOLA native hasn’t performed a lot over the years. So his anticipated return to Champions  Square is only fitting.

Well, Wayne recently announced a delay in the festival. Instead of the event taking place August 27th, ticket buyers can get their monies worth October 29th.

Unforeseen Circumstances

Lil Wayne took to Instagram to update the masses.

“It is with my sincerest apologies that I must announce…due to unforeseen circumstances, Lil Weezyana Fest will be postponed until Oct 29. To my fans, you know I always want to deliver the best show possible and we hope this has not inconvenienced you in anyway. The festival was sold out thanks to you. Please hold on you to your tickets and I will see you in October. I promise to make it up to you and to my city.”

So far, there’s no further information about the exact reason for the delay. However, Weezy intends to give the fans the performance they deserve.

Furthermore, Weezy will be in good company. Coi Leray, Rob 49 and Moneybagg Yo are also set to perform.

Importantly, 50 cents of all ticket proceeds are being donated to New Orleans youth educational  initiatives.

Stay tuned for more updates.
