FLO and Missy Elliott Visit Old School R&B On ‘Fly Girl’

Flo and Missy Elliott come together on a new song, Fly Girl. Sampling Missy’s Work It and having her join the track is superb.

Flo and Missy Elliott Sample Work It On ‘Fly Girl’ Track

Flo and Missy Elliott collaborate on the single, ‘Fly Girl

Featuring original fly girl Missy on this track, FLO is bringing back old-school R&B vibes for sure.

The single samples Elliott’s 2002 hit song, Work It.

The British trio, consisting of Renee Downer, Stella Quaresma, and Jorja Douglas adding Missy to the mix is a win-win.

You can see the video below.

Speaking about the collab, FLO has this to say in a statement –

“‘Fly Girl’ is all about confidence, good vibes and feeling your best. It’s a lively, feel-good song that still incorporates clever lyrics and fire vocals, if we do say so ourselves. It’s quite literally a perfect fusion of old-school meets modern-day R&B, with a nod to and feature from the original fly girl Missy Elliott herself.”

So how was that?

In the song, you hear Halle Berry’s name drop in the lyrics.

The gorgeous actress posted on social media her approval.

I wonder what it must feel like to be in the game for less than a year since your debut album and get such an icon to drop in on your music video.

Obviously, FLO fans (as well as Missy fans) are enjoying it all.

The group expressed their excitement about working with such an icon and posted that it is a “dream come true” for the three of them.

Wasting no time responding to the tweet, Missy posts –

“Much love & May your careers continue to flourish through the roof & you all stay together through thick & thin!”
