The rapper was handed the sentence on October 16, 2024. All Hip Hop reports state that the alleged incident happened with his then-girlfriend.

In March 2022, Lil Reese allegedly punched and strangled the woman. Police documented her injuries as witnesses were said to have broken up the altercation.

That being said, Lil Reese was detained after a warrant for his arrest was issued. He later was released after posting a $60K bond. Then, he was allegedly arrested for attacking the same woman at a nightclub in Houston.

Lil Reese was arrested the second time for aggravated assault. Also, Lil Reese was in trouble for an alleged assault against a family member.

At this time, we don’t know who the family member was. However, we know that Lil Reese was sentenced for his alleged crimes. He will serve a five-year sentence but will be eligible for parole in 2026.

Legal Battle Ends In Prison Sentence

The Chicago Drill rapper was first recognized in 2010. He is known for his collaborations with Lil Durk and, as Wiki states, Chicago’s Chief Keef and Fredo Santana.

He was featured on “I Don’t Like,” which peaked at number 73 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop song charts. Then his music videos “Us” and ” Beef” brought him widespread appeal.

In 2012, Lil Reese released a remake of “Us” with rapper Rick Ross and Drake. As you can see, Lil Reese was on the track to stardom until these incidents occurred.

After months of legal proceedings and court appearances, Lil Reese’s legal battle ended. The verdict came in in October of this year. Now, Lil Reese will serve out the 5-year sentence.

However, if possible, he may still be released earlier. Incidents like these are becoming common in hip-hop.

There have been several rappers who have faced prison time for one crime or another. In this case, Lil Reese was not accused of drugs or sex trafficking.

But aggravated assault is just as disturbing as going to prison. Hopefully, Lil Reese will be able to survive well in prison. Oftentimes, those who are incarcerated for long periods don’t do well.

As he prepares to serve his time behind bars, Lil Reese must accept the consequences of his actions and work towards rebuilding his life once he is released.
