Monique Blasts DL Hughley On Stage. What happened between the two legendary comics? Did Hughley make the same mistake as Oprah and Tyler?
Was There A Contract Dispute With Monique And DL?
Monique Blasts DL Hughley On Stage. Apparently, Hughley dissed Monique. Allegedly, Hughley did not want to be in the same venue as Monique.
Or at least, that is what Monique shared with the audience. Whether she had facts or not remains to be seen. By now we all know, that Monique is one of the most controversial comedians.
Especially since, she had beef with Oprah Winfrey, Lee Daniels, and Tyler Perry. But I am not going to go into the details. However, recently, Daniels publicly apologized to Monique.
This apology bought Daniels and Monique back together. Before the public apology, rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson came out publicly to support Monique.
Ever since then, Monique has been thrust into the spotlight once again. To the point, where Jackson has now included her in his new TV show.
Having said this, we thought Monique’s troubles were behind her. I was surprised to see Monique blast Hughley on stage. Furthermore, I was shocked at what she said about him.
During her performance on stage, she told the audience this,
“That’s what the motherfucking contract says… Mo’Nique is to be the last motherfucking person on the got damn stage. She is the headliner. That’s what I signed the contract for,”
She then went on a rant. According to Monique, allegedly Hughley is “secretly gay.” If that were enough, she kept on firing shots at him.
After she was done, she ran across the stage, allegedly laughing. Somehow, Monique felt disrespected by Hughley, as reported by Complex. It is possibly why she went in so hard.
Well, you already know Hughley was going to answer her back.
DL Hughley Fires Back At Monique
So, after Hughley heard about Monique’s negative banter it was a wrap. Hughley hit Monique with a one-two punch. He admitted that his team did not want him to work with Monique.
Obviously, he ignored them all. His response was,
“Against my better judgment, over the objections of my team and 4 other occasions where I said NO, I decided to take a chance and work with Monique,”
Of course, he did not end with that,
Mo’Nique claimed she was done wrong by others, such as Oprah, Netflix, and Tyler Perry, and wondered if she has been the problem all along. “At some point it can’t be everyone else, IT’S YOU!! Lesson learned,”
There you have it. Unfortunately, I don’t see this feud ending soon. What say you?
