Justice Served: Verdict Reached In Young Dolph Murder Case

Justice Served: Verdict Reached In Young Dolph Murder Case. The hip-hop community was rocked by the tragic murder of up-and-coming rapper Young Dolph in November 2021. Fans were left in shock and disbelief as news of his untimely death spread across the music industry. The following investigation was intense and thorough, as authorities worked tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.

The Tragic Murder of Young Dolph

Justice Served: Verdict Reached In Young Dolph Murder Case.

Adolph Thornton Jr. was gunned down outside a cookie shop in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. The 36-year-old rapper was known for his gritty lyrics and charismatic personality.

His death sent shockwaves through the music world. Fans and fellow artists mourned his loss, and many called for justice to be served for the senseless act of violence that took his life.

Young Dolph’s family, friends, and fans have finally gotten justice. According to Newsweek, a jury delivered a guilty verdict in a Memphis courtroom after deliberating for about four hours.

Justin Johnson, one of the men accused of killing Young Dolph, learned his fate. As one of three suspects in the murder, Justin went on to be tried first.

He was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Also, Justin was hit with felony possession of a handgun.

His sentencing will be in November 2024. This conviction brings a life sentence. In other words, Justin could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Two Other Suspects Go To Trial Next

Now that Justin Johnson’s trial is over, two other suspect’s trials will begin soon. Cornelius Smith and Hernandez Govan have also been charged with murder.

Hernandez Govan is said to be the mastermind behind Young Dolph’s shooting death. The second gunman, Cornelius Smith, testified against Justin Johnson.

He testified that he and Justin were part of an elaborate scheme to raise $100k. The alleged hit was said to have been ordered by Big Jook, the brother of rapper Irv Gotti.

While on the stand, Cornelius claimed he and Justin agreed to pay Hernandez $10k after the hit. He and Justin were supposed to get $40k each. However, when it was all said and done, he only received $800.

At the time of the verdict, no motive was disclosed. That is a little puzzling, to say the least. Because if Big Jook put out the hit on Young Dolph, why did he?

This is a question people are still reeling from. So, are we to believe Young Dolph’s killing was for naught? Or is there much more to the story?
