Jussie Smollett Sentenced To 150 Days In Jail!!!!

Jussie Smollett was sentenced in the case of him filing a false police report. Hopefully, this is the last we will be hearing about this incident.

Jussie Smollett Sentenced Today, Gets 150 Days In Cook County Jail

Jussie Smollett faced the music today when he was sentenced in a Chicago courtroom.

After making allegations of a racist and homophobic attack, the actor/singer/songwriter made headlines across the world.

No one was buying his story of being assaulted in the wee hours of the night on a Chicago street by 2 random guys.

Claims included assailants yelling that Smollett was “in MAGA country”, and throwing Clorox on him.

Also, it included a noose dangling around his neck, which he was still wearing when police arrived.

I mean…come on (really?).

Neither the authorities nor the public at large wasn’t left scratching their heads.

At first, charges were dropped.

And allegations of favoritism and leniency were levied at prosecutor Kim Foxx for its quick dismissal.

However, after a special investigator was assigned to the case, Smollett was indicted by a Cook County grand jury.

He was later arrested back in February of 2019 for filing a false police report.

The investigation of this case cost the city $130,000.

Ultimately, the two guys later identified as the perpetrators came forward.

Ola and Bola Osundairo worked with Jussie when he was on his hit show, Empire.

Even though the actor later made claims that he didn’t recognize them.

Not only did the brothers claim that they were paid to stage the incident, but he gave them money for the ski mask and the rope.

Also, the guys claimed that Jussie even told them what statement to yell out.

Investigating this case cost the city of Chicago $130,000.

After being charged with 6 counts of disorderly conduct, he was eventually acquitted of just one.

Here are the charges that Smollett was convicted of on December 9, 2021 –

Is This The Final Chapter In This Strange Saga?

Jussie’s family is supporting him, and they were by his side when he arrived at the Cook County Courtroom.

In fact, they may be the only ones to believe his story, at least publicly.

Though his attorneys initially tried to have the jury verdict overturned, that was a failure.

Now, the actor knows what the future holds for him in this case.

What his attorneys hoped would save him from heading to a slammer, is the fact that he does not have an extensive criminal history.

For a Class 4 felony (which is the lowest felony class in the state of Illinois), he could have gotten up to 3 years in prison, for each offense (that’s 15 years total folks).

Additionally, the charge is a low-level, non-violent crime.

However, the prosecutors disagreed with that view and requested jail time.

Jussie Smollett chose not to speak at the sentencing.

But he had plenty to say after it was handed down.

The judge sentenced him with the following –

  • 150 days in jail
  • 30 months felony probation
  • allowed to travel
  • does not have to live in Illinois
  • pay restitution of $120,106
  • pay $25,000 fine (maximum)

Barring an appeal, hopefully, this is the last chapter in this strange saga.

The Judge In This Case Called Smollett Profanely Selfish, Arrogant and Narcissistic

Before handing down the sentence, the judge called the actor selfish, arrogant, and a narcissist. Among his closing comments, the judge said –

“This is not for the public, it is just for Smollett.”

“extreme premedication in this case is an aggravating circumstance.

“Your plan worked…until it didn’t”

Jussie Says He Is Not Suicidal

Jussie Smollett continues to deny all charges, in fact, he never wavers from his original claims.

Defiantly, while being led out of the courtroom, Jussie still claims he is innocent and yelled out over and over again –

“I am not suicidal! I am not suicidal!”

“If anything happens to me when I go in there, I did not do it to myself, and you must all know that!”

“I am innocent. I am not suicidal!”

Though his lawyers vowed that they will be filing a notice of appeal, his jail time effectively starts right now.

If it all was in fact a hoax…what a waste of time.

It was good acting, but the plot sucked!
