It was during his three-night “Extra Innings” residency, honoring the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt. In addition, he was celebrating The Blueprint’s 25th anniversary. The iconic rapper didn’t solo the weekend; instead, he brought along a powerhouse lineup of legendary singers and long-time musical partners.

The residency kicked off with a massive tribute to Reasonable Doubt.

• Beyoncé: Opening the entire weekend run, Jay-Z brought out his wife to perform their timeless collaboration “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” seamlessly blending in a live snippet of her hit “Love on Top.”

• Alicia Keys: To close out the first evening in true New York fashion, Alicia Keys took the stage to sing Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind” before transitioning into her and Hov’s legendary hometown anthem, “Empire State of Mind.”

Night 3: The Grand Finale

• Rihanna: Bringing the historic weekend to an epic conclusion, Rihanna shocked the crowd during the final night. In a rare and highly anticipated live appearance, she joined Jay-Z on stage to deliver powerful performances of “B*tch Better Have My Money” and their massive chart-topping joint record, “Run This Town.”

For some, it was one of Jay-Z’s best performances. And he did not disappoint his fans, who have been waiting for his return.
