George Floyd’s Family Is Suing Kanye. There are consequences for your actions. And, now Kanye is experiencing backlash.

George Floyd’s Family Is Suing Kanye. Floyd’s family made the announcement on Tuesday. This happened because Ye made comments about his death. It was during his interview on “Drink Champs.”
Ye allegedly claimed Floyd died as a result of fentanyl use. However, it was determined by the court Floyd’s death was a homicide.
It was the pressure from officer Derek Chavin on his neck. Chavin put his knees on Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes. This action caused Floyd’s death. So, Ye alleged comments were not correct.
Therefore, Floyd’s family believes Ye has defamed him. The mother Roxie Washington of his child Gianna Floyd filed the lawsuit. She plans to sue Ye and his business partners, as reported by NPR.
Also, Washington’s attorneys claim,
“Kanye’s comments are a repugnant attempt to discount George Floyd’s life and to profit from his inhumane death,” said Attorney Pat D. Dixon III. “We will hold Mr. West accountable for his flagrant remarks against Mr. Floyd’s legacy.”
In addition, Washington’s attorney Pat D.Dixon III has issued a cease-and-desist letter. Not only that, attorney Dixon claims,
“Free Speech Rights do not include harassment, lies, misrepresentation, and the misappropriation of George Floyd’s legacy. Some words have consequences and Mr. West will be made to understand that,” said Kay Harper Williams, another of Washington’s attorneys.”
Of course, all this will be decided when the lawsuit is heard. In the meantime, Ye must tread lightly. Otherwise, things could get worst. In order to prove defamation the person must be alive.
