He took a stand in a recent episode of The Casey Crew, which his wife, Gia Casey, hosts. RaaShaun Casey, better known as DJ Envy, has spoken his mind about Diddy’s current legal troubles.
By now, we all know Diddy is in jail waiting for trial on allegedly RICO charges. Most of his friends and colleagues have been silent.
In other words, not one celebrity friend has come to his defense. However, DJ Envy apparently commented about Diddy, which is an unpopular stance.
According to Vibe, DJ Envy shared this,
“Now, the one thing I will say that I don’t like is I don’t like how people–I mean everybody is going to crack a joke, it is what it is,” he added. “I don’t like how people convict him before hearing all of the evidence. I don’t like the fact that they didn’t give him a bond.”
Did DJ Envy have a valid point? Is Diddy being treated fairly regarding getting bail? Or do Diddy’s alleged crimes warrant his staying behind bars until his trial?
As DJ Envy pointed out, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, and others with similar cases got bail. So, why is Diddy’s case any different than theirs?
While DJ Envy didn’t hold back when discussing Diddy’s legal woes. He expressed his disappointment in the hip-hop mogul’s actions, stating that no one is above the law.
He also questioned Diddy’s decision-making and pointed out that his legal troubles could have been easily avoided.
While some may see DJ Envy’s comments as harsh, he clarified that he spoke from a place of concern and accountability.
Diddy’s Legal Woes
Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, has faced several legal challenges in recent years.
He has been accused of tax evasion and sued over business dealings. However, his RICO charge far outweighs his previous troubles.
For this reason, Diddy is facing losing everything he has worked to gain. As The Root states, DJ Envy claims Diddy being freaky does not mean he has done anything illegal.
But some of the alleged victims may beg to differ if the allegations against Diddy are proven to be true during his trial.
More importantly, if Diddy is found guilty of sex trafficking, he could be facing considerable prison time.
Another important thing would be if Diddy sexually assaulted minors. Either way, Diddy’s reputation has been damaged.
Also, after paying legal fees for an attorney, the fortune he has amassed will dwindle.
Sadly, in the court of public opinion, you are allegedly guilty until proven innocent. Therefore, Diddy has already been tried without a jury.
I digress; DJ Envy will undoubtedly face considerable backlash for his comments.
