According to reports by CBS News, Chris Brown has entered a not-guilty plea. He was seen leaving the courtroom dressed in a navy blue suit, accompanied by a white shirt and a black tie.
There was an altercation in February 2023, in which a music producer was hit with a bottle. And Chris was charged with one count of assault and one count of possessing an offensive weapon.
Also, Omololu Akinlolu, an American rapper, was charged and pleaded not guilty. Abraham Diaw was allegedly attacked at a nightclub in London’s upmarket Mayfair district.
Manchester police arrested Chris Brown. At that time, Chris posted a £ 5 million bond ($6.7 million).
Authorities Investigating Incident at Exclusive London Venue
TMZ reports that Chris Brown was accused of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abraham Diaw. His alleged accomplice, Omololu Akinlolu, pleaded not guilty, as did Chris.
Meanwhile, Chris is still allowed to perform in London venues. A judge released Chris on conditional bail and ordered the withholding of his passport.
We are not sure if Chris will be allowed to perform his upcoming concerts in the US. However, Chris has already performed in Manchester on Sunday. Additionally, he performed in Cardiff, Wales, on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Chris’s legal team is mounting a defense for the singer. The next court appearance is scheduled for sometime in July 2025. If convicted, Chris Brown could face up to 16 years in prison.
Keep in mind that if that happens, Chris will serve his time in the United Kingdom, not the United States. It will be up to his legal team to prove his innocence.
Hopefully, Chris will be able to come out of this situation with flying colors. At the very least, Chris will have spent millions on legal fees and counsel.
Fans and critics alike will be watching closely as the story develops. Eager to see how this latest chapter in Brown’s tumultuous career will ultimately unfold.
