42 Dugg was arrested after not showing up for his scheduled 6-month stint in jail. Now, he faces up to 5 years behind bars.

42 Dugg Arrested, 6-Month Sentence Could Now Balloon To 5 Years

Rising rap star 42 Dugg is arrested again by federal agents.

This, after Dugg, real name Dion Marquise Hayes, did not surrender to a federal prison camp.

The rapper/singer/songwriter was expected to surrender to authorities to serve a sentence of 6 months.

He never showed up.

After not appearing at the West Virginia federal prison camp last month, he showed up in Detroit via private jet from Memphis.

But soon after landing, police slaps handcuffs on the 26-year-old.

Convicted of firing a gun in an Atlanta gun range, the “We Paid” rapper was initially sentenced to 6 months.

His charge…illegally possessing a firearm.

However, after this latest move, the Michigan native is facing an absconding charge.

Instead of 6 months, his sentence can balloon to up to 5 years in prison.

Dugg’s lawyer, Steve Schrag, confirms the arrest, saying –

“He got off the plane and they were waiting there to greet him.”

And this is not the first time that Hayes has decided to flee from the police.

Back on June 5, 2020, the rapper was in a rented SUV when he ran through a stop sign.

During the traffic stop, he fled from the scene.

After living as a fugitive for 2 months, he was captured by police on August 4, 2020, and charged with a 3rd-degree felony for fleeing from police.

Not a very smart move, 42 Dugg!

“Last Ones Left”, with EST Gee, was the most recent release by the rapper on April 8, 2022.

That mixtape dropped 3 singles, Free The Sinners, Everybody Shooters Too, and Thump Shit.
